70 YEARS OF PSE
Pi Sigma Epsilon’s first chapter was officially installed May 14th, 1952, at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Since that time, 190 chapters have been chartered on campuses across the country and nearly 70,000 people have been initiated. On May 14th, 2022, Pi Sigma Epsilon celebrated its 70th Anniversary! At the 2022 National Convention, we celebrated this milestone by coming back together in-person for the first time since the 2019. We recognized many great accomplishments of our members taking place in the 2021-2022 Academic year – in addition to awarding over $45,000 in Scholarships and Prizes.
THE UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO BROKE RECORDS
The Epsilon Delta at the University of Toledo brought the most attendees ever from their chapter to a National Convention with 45 collegiate members and 6 Epsilon Delta Alumni! While there, they were awarded the most coveted chapter recognition- First Place for the Lewis F. Gordon Top Gold Chapter Award. This is the first time in Epsilon Delta’s 28-year history that they have achieved this award. Epsilon Delta also secured The Arno Kleimenhagen Award For Sustained Excellence, denoting their continued Gold Standing in the Chapter Operations Guide (COG) for at least three consecutive years. In total, The University of Toledo concluded the 2022 National Convention with a cumulative 9 National Awards.
FIRST TIME ATTENDEES
Of the 290 Students in attendance, just under 4% of them had ever attended an in-person Pi Sigma Epsilon Convention before! Coming back from two years of Virtual National Conventions due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic resulted in many National Convention First for our members. Some of the most exciting included receiving the chapter recognition ribbons to wear on their badge, experiencing a National In-Person Initiation, Life-Sized Foosball at the Student Social and enjoying a Black-Tie Optional Awards Banquet.
NATIONAL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION CHARTERED
On March 24th, 2022, Pi Sigma Epsilon charted the National Alumni Association at the National Convention. 46 of the 290 Chartering Members were in attendance for the ceremony and presentation of charter. This addition to our fraternity will serve our members for years to come in their post-graduate life!
