If you chapter hasn’t participated in the past, don’t worry…now is the time to start.
The Call for Entries contains the explanation of each of the awards that are part of the National Awards Program, including criteria and submission guidelines.
1-Nov: We are happy to release the 2017 Call for Entries, featuring our newest award, Top Social Media Strategy!
NOTE: after a trial year in 2016, the Top Promotional Campaign competition will not be continued in 2017.
Outside of the Case Study Competition, you will need to submit a written report of your work in order to be entered into a category. The requirements for each category can be found in the Call For Entries, but they'll generally be a 2-4 page document, with Top Chapter entries being longer and in the form of our Chapter Prospectus.
Most awards at the National Convention will involve an oral presentation in front of a panel of judges (awards with no oral presentation are noted in the call). The criteria for these presentations will often mirror the criteria used for the written portion of the award. The presentation portion of the program is designed for chapters to go past a simple discussion of their entry to providing critical analysis of their work. At its core, the presentation is very much a sales presentation, and should be treated as such. Your emphasis should focus on the outcomes, whether successful or unsuccessful, in order to persuade the judges that you have gained the proposed learning outcomes. Additional judging criteria will include your ability to think critically and present professionally under pressure. Group Interview Following the oral presentations, time will be allotted for the judges’ panel to interview the finalists about their entry and related business concepts. Having a broad knowledge of your work is critical to succeed in the interview.

Awards Q&A Conference Calls
The PSE National Awards Program is looking for judges to help with this year's Semifinal (Written) Round! If you are interested, please come sign up HERE.
If you've not judged before, in the Written round, chapters have to submit an entry detailing their work over the past year (usually between 2-4pgs, Top Chapter competitions are longer at 20pgs). Those entries go to our judges, who will have from Feb 13-Mar 3 to review and score. Once the scores are in, we will name our Finalists, who will advance to the National Convention in St. Louis for the On-Site Round.
For most categories, judging will typically take ~4-6hrs, depending on how fast you read and the number of entries in the category, but again, we do give our judges almost a full month to allow them to fit in volunteering around their busy lives!
We will be having a call on Sunday, January 29th, from 6:00PM-7:00PM CST. These are not mandatory, but if you have questions as you work through your entries, please join us - you're probably not the only one with that same question!
