The Interview Competition is presented by Mutual of Omaha.
The goal of this competition is to give students the opportunity to learn interview techniques, practice interviewing with a live judge, and compete for prizes. In addition, this competition gives you the opportunity to network and build relationships with potential employers.
Competition Details
- Each competitor will interview for one of the sales jobs with a PSE Employer Partner that is judging the competition. You will be assigned an Employer Partner’s sales job after registration is complete and you have filled out the mandatory student form found in the PSE Academy.
- Find the competition checklist and all necessary materials in the PSE Academy. Be sure to review all videos and resources there before your scheduled first-round virtual interview. If you have not yet logged into the PSE Academy, please check your inbox for a welcome email from Thinkific with sign-up instructions. - The first round is a 30-minute virtual interview. You will be contacted by your assigned Employer Partner to set up the interview. Employer Partner judges will evaluate the interview immediately following and submit their scores.
- For the final round, 18 finalists from the 1st round will move on to the final in-person round. A 30-minute interview for finalists will take place on-site with the Employer Partner. If you move forward to the final round, you will receive additional information prior to your interview on what to expect and who you are interviewing with.

On-Site
Finalists will be scheduled for an on-site interview during the PSE National Convention or Fall Conference. Winners will be announced during the awards presentation ceremony at the event.

- Second place – $200
- Third place – $100
- Fourth Place – Sixth Place – $50 Amazon Gift card each
Disbursement of Prize Money
Winners must complete a Funds Distribution Form to confirm their mailing address within 30 days following the close of the PSE National Convention. The funds will then be disbursed directly to the winning chapter or individual via check. Late submissions may result in delayed payments. Failure to submit the completed Funds Distribution Form prior to June 30th of the convention year will result in a forfeiture of all prize winnings.

Sign up for the Interview Competition is part of the event registration. There is no other way to access this competition unless you register to attend the event where the competition will take place. You must also fill out the MANDATORY form found in the PSE Academy.
