Sports Selling Competition

Presented by The New York Mets

The Sports Selling competition presented by The New York Mets is a competition where students can showcase their sales skills through realistic role-playing scenarios involving sports-related products or services. This role-play utilizes a wants-based sales approach that focuses on identifying and fulfilling the desires and needs of the customer rather than just promoting the features and benefits of a product or service. This method emphasizes understanding the customer’s motivations, preferences, and emotional drivers to tailor the sales pitch and create a more personalized and compelling proposition. The competition provides valuable networking opportunities with industry professionals. Feedback helps students refine their techniques, making this competition a key experience for those aspiring to careers in sports management, sales, and marketing.
